Winter Wonderland
It’s not often we get a large amount of snow. I’d say that since we moved here six years ago, we get maybe one proper snow a year. And by proper, I mean that it sticks for one day. But over the Christmas holiday, we got a LOT OF snow. We think it was at least a foot in some places.
We made sure to do all of the appropriate winter activities. We took the kids sledding. We made a snowman. We had a snowball fight. We made snow angels. Hot chocolate was involved.
It was great fun!
It was beautiful!
It was breathtaking!
It got old real quick.
Have I mentioned that our driveway is about 3/4 mile long on a steep incline? It sure does feel longer when you are shoveling snow off of it by hand. Then there was the huge oak tree that fell across it that had to also be removed. And I won’t even mention the state of my row covers (say a prayer for my ranunculus please).
So while we enjoyed the thought of a “White Christmas” for the first time, I’m not sad to see it melt. And I really hope that was our only proper snow of the year.
